Ever wondered what your life expectancy is?  It’s obviously deternimed by a number of personal factors such as lifestyle and genetics.  But we can get a general idea by tapping in to the skills of our good friends at NetActuary.com.au.  Below are a number of calcuators that can assist in determining how much you will need in retirement and most importantly, whether you will have enough to outlive your superannuation savings.

These calculators are no subsitute for consulting a Certified Financial Planner© and having them construct a holistic financial plan for you however, they definitley provide you with some food for thought.

Life Expectancy -- Survivorship Calculator -- calculates both single and joint survival probabilities.

Age Pension Calculator -- calculates an estimate of age pension entitlement.

How Long Will my Retirement Savings Last -- this calculator assumes you and your partner are already retired.  It shows how long your superannaution will last in your retirement.  Step 1 involves entering your (and your partners) date of birth, superannaution balance, desired retirement pension amount and estimated return on funds.  Step 2 calculates whether you will be entitled to any Government age pension either now or in the future.  the result shows you when the money runs out.  It’s good to use this in conjunction with the life expectancy calculator.
